The role supports a busy practice focused on Estate Planning, Trust Administration, and Probate matters. After 90 days, employee may work remotely one day per week as part of our hybrid work model.

Job Description:
Musick, Peeler & Garrett LLP is seeking an experienced Trust & Estates Legal Assistant to join our Los Angeles office. This is a full-time and non-exempt position. The role supports a busy practice focused on Estate Planning, Trust Administration, and Probate matters. After 90 days, employee may work remotely one day per week as part of our hybrid work model.
Requirements:
- Minimum five (5) years of experience, with a strong background in Estate Planning, Trust Administration, and Probate.
- Excellent administrative, organizational, calendaring, and follow-up skills are required.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and overall work product quality is required.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- E-filing and/or probate court filing experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams) and Adobe Pro.
- Familiarity with iManage or similar document management systems is preferred.
- Ability to take initiative and manage assignments timely.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with preparation of legal documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning legal documents.
- Prepare and record deeds, prepare binders, and other related documents.
- Print, scan, proofread, and edit legal documents with a high level of accuracy.
- Maintain organized files and track case progress efficiently.
- Manage client communications and draft professional correspondence
- Collaborate with attorneys and team members while demonstrating strong independent work skills.
