DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, IT Team Lead, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires six (6) years of experience in the following: building and maintaining cloud native software solutions including managing infrastructure as code using Terraform; designing, developing, maintaining and testing software components and modules using Java, JavaScript, TypeScript and Python technologies; Developing full stack microservice applications using Node JS, Spring MVC, Spring Cloud, Spring Batch, Spring Security, Spring States, and Hibernate and deploying to AWS and PCF Clouds; TDD and BDD; Unit Testing, Integration Testing and User Acceptance Testing using Cucumber, Jest framework, Junit Framework and Mockito; Remediating SSAP and Sonar issues and vulnerabilities in an application; Using AWS services including ECS, Lambdas, SQS, Route 53, Secrets Manager, API Gateways, ALBs, NLBs and VPCs. This position requires one (1) year of experience in the following: leading Agile SDLC processes for sprint a team; applying Application Architecture Disciplines to create new software solutions; implementing CI/CD Paradigms to securely deploy Code As Infrastructure and Applications; developing new APIs following established REST Principles and best practices; utilizing Application Resiliency and Security to protect mission critical applications and confidential data; operating and using streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka; Managing and Release activities including creating release branches, ServiceNow ticket creation, code merging and handling Jira and Github release compliance; SQL in relational database environments including PostgreSQL or MySQL and non-relational databases including AWS Dynamo DB or Neptune; using monitoring tools including CloudWatch, Datadog, Dynatrace or Splunk for monitoring resource utilization and in setting up the thresholds and performance alerts; Utilizing Application development tools including Maven or Gradle, JMeter or Blazemeter, Postman, Git or Bitbucket, and Jenkins or Spinnaker.
