Ford Motor Company operates a worldwide manufacturing and distribution network in over 150 countries that requires the cross-border movement of parts and vehicles. Operations and classification data is maintained for all Ford materials and shipments.

The global trade environment is increasingly more complex and difficult to predict. A Customs Data Analyst for Operations/Classification enables the team to more efficiently manage the de-risking of Ford's customs compliance space through a dedicated focus on the systems side of the Customs practice and establishing the proper data channels for compliance oversight.

In this position...

You will manage Ford's global classification and export processes while overseeing the roll-out of automated customs solutions as an integral part of the Ford Customs Strategy.

Responsibilities

What you'll do...
  • Support the process development and oversight for USMCA Compliance for all New Model Vehicle and Unit Programs through the GPDS Milestones
  • Develop strong knowledge of USMCA regulatory requirements and Tariff Codes to ultimately lead and educate across the enterprise
  • Lead and interface with cross functional teams including Program Management / Supply Chain Purchasing / Material Logistics
  • Leadership within New Program Teams, developing sourcing strategy and mix forecasts that ensure adherence to ongoing USMCA requirements
  • Develop good working knowledge of the Manufacturing footprint, both assembly and powertrain, and purchasing sourcing strategy to align
  • Align critical stake holders around the program objectives and create a strategy and sourcing plan that ensures compliance as well as program EBIT Targets and affordability
  • Establish best practices and process improvements for USMCA compliance forecasting, and move tactical day-to-day workload to strategic and automated processes
  • Ability to support non-standard work hours and availability when required to support Global organization


Qualifications

You'll have...
  • Bachelor of Science / Engineering or Supply Chain and Logistics or similar degree
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills Ability to work cross-functionally with GDIA and lead the development of new tools / dashboards
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to develop and present key material to both immediate and senior leadership as required
  • Work a hybrid role with the ability to work well remotely but also be onsite to support in-person meetings


Even better, you'll have...
  • Demonstrated sourcing, part release, and/or codification process knowledge or experience.
  • Strong understanding of the business practices and systems impacting volumes (WERS/PDO) preferred
  • Validated experience in systems such as SPCPCS / SAC / GCP / MCVP / AVBOM
  • Prior experience developing Alteryx workflows for data analytics and/or process automation
  • MP&L, Pre-Production, and/or PD Project Management experience
  • Experience in the New Model GPDS program approval cadence
  • Basic Understanding of Manufacturing Footprint both for VO and Powertrain as well as the developing internal capability for EV commodities
