Description
Electrical Designer II (Multiple Positions) (Stantec Consulting Services, Inc.; Chicago, IL): Develop basic system designs, electrical design drawings, and specifications for Data Centers. Perform construction administration tasks during RFI and submittal reviews. Conduct site visits to review design conformance during construction phase. Coordinate electrical distribution equipment such as generators, switchgear, transformers, UPS equipment and systems with other disciplines for constructability. Ensure local electrical and energy code compliance for building permit application. Follow quality management process and review project deliverables prior to submission to QA/AC reviewer. Provide input and prepare plans to complete tasks within the project timeline and budget. Identify and report potential roadblocks for competing client priorities that may impact project scope, schedule, and budget. Work with senior project engineer to prepare deliverables per client's intent and scope of work outlined in the proposal. Participate in the engineering professional community to build personal knowledge and professional growth through attending meetings, seminars, and conferences. 40 hours per week, M-F (9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.). Salary range is $82,600 - $119,800 per year. The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, & work location. Individuals in this position may be paid a discretionary bonus. #LI-DNI #GTM
Qualifications
Requirements:
Must have a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field, and 2 years of related work experience.
Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience with the following: Electrical distribution topologies; Autodesk, BIM 360, Revit, AGI, CYMCAP and SKM; Performing Arc Flash Hazard analysis, Cable Tray sizing, Design and Load Calculations, Feeder and Wire sizing, Equipment sizing, Grounding, Overcurrent Protection Device Coordination, Selective Coordination and Short Circuit Load Calculations; Designing electrical distribution systems for Data Centers; and Applying industry standards NEC, IBC, NFPA and IECC for the safe installation of electrical wiring and equipment.
Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days a week, depending on business need.
Travel to various locations throughout the US required up to 10%.
