SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position will direct the work of and manage the product managers.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in business related field or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

- Manage development and commercialization of product lines.
- Drive delivery of customer solutions through current product enhancement and new product development. Determine product development/enhancement prioritization ranking.
- Assist VP of Marketing in formulation and implementation of the Product Marketing Strategic Plan.
- Manage and direct work of product managers.
- Manage cross-functional teams to assure the timely implementation of product programs.
- Perform ongoing competitive analysis and maintain a competitive matrix for features, positioning, performance and pricing. Initiate requests for competitive product testing and evaluation.
- Create and manage catalog and specials pricing to achieve gross margin and market penetration targets set forth by management which will include developing appropriate pricing, updating all systems, and catalogs.
- Ensure effective product positioning, costs and pricing that align with market requirements.
- Manage life cycle of products to ensure proper inventory levels while meeting customer expectations.
- Manage product updates through all commercial systems, such as all appropriate web sites, dealer portals, Will-Burt's ERP system, EZ Spec System and e-Commerce platforms.
- Perform market research, trend and sales analysis to identify new opportunities and recommend appropriate actions.
- Act as liaison and subject matter expert for appropriate products for sales, engineering, R&D, purchasing, manufacturing and finance.
- Interact with service and quality assurance personnel to monitor product quality and performance and identify potential customer support issues.
- Travel up to 10%. Attend trade shows and visit distribution channel partners / end-user customers to gather information and assure market responsiveness and customer satisfaction.
REQUIRED COMPETENCY To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
- Moderate proficiency required in Microsoft Office Products - high proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Understanding of accounting and finance. Must be able to calculate gross margin, customer margin, develop list prices, etc. and understand how pricing and cost decisions affect the profitability of the company.
- Must be highly organized, detail oriented and driven to succeed.
- Must be customer focused.
- Must be able to lead and influence all areas and levels of the organization.
