SUMMARY

The Associate Chief Operating Officer (ACOO) for the acute care entity will be responsible for day-to-day hospital operations to ensure localized oversight and alignment in operational decision-making and plan execution, budget oversight, labor management, patient flow and throughput, patient quality and experience. The ACOO is a member of the Senior Leadership Team and will report directly to the President/COO of the acute care entity. The ACOO will exercise management responsibility over the hospital ensuring efficient, high quality services are delivered to patients, physicians, the public and staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leads the planning and execution of entity's operational objectives and initiatives for all entity operational and clinical services, while ensuring they conform to the mission and policies of Rochester Regional Health.
  • Responsible for the implementation of the annual budget and ongoing expense monitoring.
  • Creates and implements operational management systems and processes to ensure maximum efficiencies and effective operations that make a positive impact to the organization's bottom line.
  • Drives hospital throughput and flow activities to ensure high quality and efficient processes and outcomes.
  • Defines clear key performance indicators for success, and course corrects as needed to ultimately meet or exceed stated performance indicators.
  • Drives compliance initiatives that align with all regulatory and accrediting body standards and requirements.
  • Supports the development of exceptional patient experience programs and initiatives, and drives results.
  • Oversees daily facility physical plant operations including, but not limited to facilities, emergency management, security, environmental services and food and nutrition.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining a clean, efficient and functional facility for all staff.
  • Effectively partners with Service Line Leadership to drive efficient high quality clinical services and growth, while balancing system goals. Service lines include, but are not limited to, Cardiac, Orthopedics, ICUs, Emergency Medicine, etc.
  • Partners with entity Chief Nursing Officer to deliver operational processes and programs that fully support the nursing function.
  • Collaborates with all entity clinical staff to ensure quality standards and processes are created to deliver the highest level of quality care.
  • Ensures implementation of strategic growth plans as it applies to all hospital administrative, operational and clinical services.
  • Provides leadership to the organization, responsible for monitoring revenue, worker productivity, personnel development and recruitment and retention. Introduces accountability at all levels to ensure success.
  • Develops and fosters effective collaboration between clinical departments, divisions, medical staff leadership and other affiliated services (inside and outside of the hospital) to ensure an integrated approach to providing services, and fulfilling the hospital's clinical and educational goals and objectives.
  • Implements and informs strategic initiatives of RRH at entity.
  • Develops and implements strategies to create a culture of safety.
  • Responsible for making entity a great place to work.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or related field required, Master's degree preferred.
  • 5 years of progressive operations and leadership experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of business operations, financial analysis, business planning and quantitative analysis.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with physicians and nurses.
  • Strong project management and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects, timetables and implementations.

$150,000.00 - $250,000.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
