Job Purpose/Summary:

The Senior Manager of Procurement is a strategic leader responsible for driving sourcing excellence, supplier performance, and cost optimization across the organization. This role will ensure that Sonoma has the materials and services needed to support cell therapy clinical trials and pipeline programs. This role partners closely with cross-functional leaders, oversees critical supplier relationships, and ensures scalable, compliant procurement processes that support Sonoma's growth and innovation.

This role can operate out of our SSF or Seattle offices in a hybrid role, but quarterly or ad hoc travel to the other site would be required.

Roles and responsibilities:
  • Own procurement strategy and execution for all production materials and services, ensuring alignment with operational and financial goals.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to pinpoint, champion, and implement cost savings and efficiency opportunities; partner with the business to challenge the status quo and drive the adoption of procurement practices, fostering compliance and trust.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sourcing strategy grounded in analysis of spend data, market trends, category insights, and business needs, effectively leveraging the company's spending power.
  • Assess and mitigate supplier risks through proactive supplier risk management processes and external assessments and evaluations.
  • Lead the RFP/RFQ/RFI process for identifying and onboarding new suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with requisition and contract review processes, ensuring alignment with source-to-pay procedures and approval workflows.
  • Plan and facilitate QBR process with critical suppliers to drive continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Establish and maintain supplier relationships including development of KPIs and metrics to measure the effectiveness of sourcing and supplier activities.
  • Maintain GMP supplier management processes as necessary within Sonoma's supply chain requirements.
  • Assist and work with senior management and Finance team on continuous improvement of procurement policies and processes, and special projects.
  • Provide leadership within the organization by cultivating development, mentoring team members, and drive best Other ad hoc analysis / projects as deemed appropriate.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • Manager - 5+ years' experience in procurement and/or supplier management in a GMP environment; Sr Manager, 8+ years' experience.
  • Experience in cell therapy.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work under various timeline pressures, and drive tasks to completion.
  • Must demonstrate solid time management and organizational skills, with good verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent collaboration and change-management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in supplier negotiations, working cross-functionally to understand business requirements and incorporate them into contracts and SOWs.
  • Experience working with suppliers to ensure business objectives are clearly defined and met.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Visio, etc.) required.
  • Leverage ERP and analytics tools to monitor performance, identify trends, and drive procurement automation and reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or science, or equivalent experience.
  • Acts with a high degree of integrity and compliance, and manages relationships effectively internally and externally

Other Responsibilities:
  • Ability to travel between California and Washington offices for in-person meetings at least 1-2 times a quarter.
