Position Overview:

The VP, Financial Controller will be responsible for all Financial Reporting and Accounting functions for the organization including providing consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages to the CFO. The Controller is also responsible for overall GAAP compliance and the external reporting package to the board of directors. The VP, Controller works jointly with the VP, Finance to complete expert financial planning and analysis including analyzing current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses and capital expenditures; regulatory reporting, business intelligence and managing the budget process for a multi-unit, multi-state Company. This is a hybrid role with a work location in Chelmsford, MA.

Major Areas of Responsibility:
  • Oversee the overall accounting and tax functions of the company including internal and external reporting, month-end close, consolidated reporting package and assisting in budgeting, forecasting and other finance related tasks.
  • Continue to drive our public-company readiness initiative, including, but not limited to, fully compliant PCAOB financials and audit as well as SOX readiness.
  • Preparation of quarterly earnings release schedules.
  • Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance.
  • Routinely communicate business unit and company consolidated financial and operational performance trends, historical and forecasted, using appropriate metrics. Suggest trends, resulting implications, key actions, and strategic implications.
  • Provide expert guidance to a large accounting group.
  • Ad-Hoc Reporting and Analysis.
  • Quarterly and Monthly Financial reports.
  • Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives.
  • Analyze complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes
    Prepare presentation to Board of Directors and Senior Management Team.

Minimum Qualifications (Skills, Knowledge & Abilities):
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required. MBA/MS highly preferred.
  • 10+ years experience as a manager or Director of Finance and Accounting preferably from a high growth, multi-business unit environment. A mix of public accounting experience auditing publicly traded companies and accounting leadership experience within a publicly traded company is highly preferred.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of GAAP and SEC reporting requirements strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills required. Experience in multi-unit retail and or manufacturing concepts preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills. Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized.
  • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated.
  • Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on management capacity.

The anticipated pay range for this postion is between $185K - $210K + Bonus.
