GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Enjoy the unspoiled symbols of the best of Wyoming and the laid-back charm of a true Western community. Lander is located near the base of the southern Wind River Mountains. There is nearby access to skiing, hiking, fishing, hunting, rock climbing, and other outdoor activities. The Wyoming Life Resource Center (WLRC) is located on a beautiful 90-acre campus and is home to state-of-the-art care, learning, and job opportunities for Wyoming residents with challenges.
The Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) is seeking an exceptional individual who possesses a rare combination of talent, drive, and intellectual curiosity to fill the at-will position of WLRC Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Administrator. The successful applicant must possess a current Wyoming Nursing Home Administrator license or be able to obtain this license upon hire, and will report directly to the WLRC Facility Administrator.
The SNF services provide care for patients who are hard to place, have high medical needs, or have organic brain syndrome and exceptionally difficult behaviors. All care will be provided in brand new, state-of-the-art cottages built to the Green House Project standards.

- Oversee general administration and management of the SNF. Lead the planning process to develop goals for quality care, employee management, and financial performance.
- Ensure that all departments are cooperating and working together for long-range goals to accomplish the vision and mission of the overall organization.
- Establish and monitor SNF policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Oversee staffing with a focus on increasing retention of employees and reducing turnover. Model and encourage a positive workplace culture.
- Ensure the sound fiscal operation of the facility, including presenting, implementing, and monitoring the operating budget.
- Provide excellent customer service to our stakeholders by repeatedly communicating the vision and mission, expectations, quality of care, and initiative to improve services.
- Assure the facility is in overall compliance with State and Federal rules and regulations concerning nursing home operations, quality of care, and life safety issues.
- Monitor quality assurance activities to prevent survey issues and deficiencies. Lead the SNF during survey evaluations and follow-up processes.

Qualifications
PREFERENCES:

KNOWLEDGE:
- Has a clear and unquestionable ability to lead, motivate, supervise, and inspire a team.
- Ability to work in a team-based setting as well as independently; self-motivator.
- Ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the team and organization; excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of finance, 24/7 healthcare facility operation leadership, budget, human resource concepts, and human resource principles and practices.
- Knowledge of performance improvement processes and risk management.
- Knowledge of current SNF, Federal, and State laws, rules, policies, and regulations, and ability to translate these departmental policies and implement best practices.
- Knowledge of management principles and organizational behavior.
- Ability to direct the work of numerous staff through various facility levels, provide continuous performance management, training, and administer appropriate corrective actions as necessary.
- Ability to develop, monitor, and coordinate quality assurance activities, and provide leadership and guidance in meeting all quality standards.
- Ability to administer public presentations and be a spokesperson for the facility, department, and for people with disabilities.
