About the Team

The Corporate and Finance Communications team is a versatile team that promotes thought leadership within SAP and beyond and supports the CEO, CFO, COO, and the Chief Marketing Officer in their communicative efforts. The team builds and develops the personal brand profile of the executives in line with the corporate strategy, thus strengthening their impact as central brand ambassadors. It drives keynotes, speeches, social media, presentations, media interviews, etc. and supports them with targeted content and consistent strategic messages.

The Role

The team is searching for an experienced executive communicator and passionate storyteller, who can translate complex data and business insights into compelling communication that help build a memorable and authentic personal brand of the Head of SAP Global Marketing. If you love writing and have a real skill for creative communication to both internal and external audiences for a large, matrixed multinational tech organization, this is the job for you.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies to support the Global Chief Marketing Officer's core messages, themes and objectives.
  • Build and further develop our Chief Marketing Officer's brand and drive strategic messaging and positioning to help create a more distinct profile in the market.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CMO, providing strategic communication counsel and support.
  • From a CMO lense, contribute to organizational comms workback plans for disciplined, standardized approach to org comms and frequent connect to internal audiences
  • Amplify key messages and storylines across different distribution channels such as media, social media, events, and other speaking engagements.
  • Collaborate closely with the Office of the CMO team to ensure alignment of messaging and branding across all communication channels
  • Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of communication efforts, making recommendations for improvement as needed.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in executive communication and marketing.
  • Proactively build strategic corporate messaging as well as our executive's personal storyline to life - in an authentic way - based on our company vision, strategy, and stakeholder's expectations.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team and engage with different target groups and incorporate their feedback readily and flexibly.
  • Observe, monitor, ascertain and draw on strategic needs and company focus topics, socio-political developments, market trends, target audience expectations, stakeholder sentiment, and executive guidance.

Your Profile
  • 5-7+ years of experience in communications - executive communications would be a strong plus - Marketing, or Public Relations
  • Bachelor's in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Socio-Political Studies, IT or equivalent
  • Fluent English is mandatory, German would be a plus
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic communication plans.
  • Experience in complex and fast-paced global environments - either in professional service firm or multi-national corporation
  • Solid working experience in the software industry - profound understanding of SAP's strategy, organization and portfolio would be a strong plus
  • Strong understanding of marketing principles and strategies
  • Ability to understand the big (complex) picture and convey it in easily digestible and novel ways
  • Ability to create compelling stories enriched with real-world examples that are relatable and most importantly authentic
  • Understanding of how to address and attract the attention of target audiences by adapting storylines, presentation formats, and presentation settings to their respective wishes and needs
  • Trustworthy team player who thrives in a collaborative environment, driving outcomes to new heights through collaboration and sense of urgency
  • Ability to excel without supervision and under pressure to meet strict deadlines
  • Comfortable working under NDA and handling privileged, confidential corporate and organizational information

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP's commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 100,000 - 216,000 USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
