Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Stream Restoration Engineer with Project Management experience for immediate employment for the Germantown, MD office.

We are looking for an enthusiastic engineering project manager to provide leadership as part of an established water resources engineering design team in our Germantown, Maryland office. This position will support ongoing stream restoration and water resources engineering projects across the DC-Metro/Mid-Atlantic region, including client interface, project management, and business development.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Lead, direct, and perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks.
  • Exercise professional judgment in selecting and developing engineering alternatives and solutions for technical problems.
  • Work with junior engineers to develop details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives, where appropriate
  • Develop and apply hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analyses related to a variety of water resource engineering design projects
  • Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids, including CAD design plans
  • Provide leadership, direction, and mentoring to junior-level team members


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • BA or BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering +6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License in (Maryland/DC/Virginia) or ability to obtain by comity within 3 months of hire date
  • Project Management experience
  • Stream restoration planning and design experience
  • U.S Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications:
  • BA or BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering +10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Rosgen natural channel design and monitoring training or similar
  • Stream restoration construction administration/oversight experience
  • Advanced experience with standard computer software for the position (e.g., AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models)
  • A strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn, and a desire to work in a dynamic deadline driven environment
  • Strong working knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (e.g., AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models)
  • Strong desire to learn along with professional drive
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office Programs/Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing, and standard office software
