WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Under the guidance of the Senior Managing Director of People, the Senior Human Resources (HR) Manager will support the activities of the People's Team with functions relating to the employee experience and creating a positive work environment. This role will also support with general compliance and learning and development.

This is a full-time position, eligible for full benefits.

Your responsibilities:
  • Process Worker's comp claims by ensuring accurate documentation and collaborating with the insurance provider and state agency if needed.
  • Triage HR Service tickets and ensure they are assigned to the proper owner within one (1) business day of receipt.
  • Processing HR mail which includes disability claims.
  • Administer Clipper Bay Pass program.
  • Process all leaves (Medical, sabbatical, admin, etc.) and maintain regular contact with employees regarding their progress and anticipated return to work.
  • Ensure compliance with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) when managing employee leaves to related to workers compensation.
  • Learning Management System (LMS) Administration and self-paced learning course administration.
  • Process vacation payout requests per Agency policy.
  • OSHA Incident reporting and Compliance by maintaining accurate records of workplace injuries and illnesses and reporting incidents as needed.
  • EEO Compliance and reporting.
  • Processing Acting Assignments, Promotions and status changes.
  • Process tuition reimbursement & education hours.
  • Onboarding and New Hire Orientation Facilitator Back-up.
  • Assist Chief People Officer with various projects as required.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with staff members.
  • Cross training / back up for Peer Sr. HR Manager.
  • Participate in Office Hours.
  • Other HR duties as needed.

  • You are passionate about the Larkin Street Youth Services mission to end youth homelessness.
  • You have at least 2 years of Human Resources experience.
  • You have a strong customer service mindset.
  • You are skilled at balancing multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • You are a self-starter and team player. Your colleagues describe you as compassionate, organized, and collaborative.
  • You work best in a hybrid working environment, working from home for 2 days per week.
  • You are vaccinated against COVID 19.
