Job Description: The Nurse Clinician (NC) is an expert clinical nurse who integrates experience, advanced level skills and knowledge from nursing theory and principles of adult learning in the provision of direct client/patient/resident care, assessment of needs, clinical coordination and problem solving, client/patient/resident and staff education and participation in research for a defined group of clients/patients/families. The NC position requires skill in collaborative consultation with the Manager of Nursing, multidisciplinary healthcare team members and cardiologists to provide seamless coordination of clinical planning, therapeutic activities and client/patient/resident interventions for patients in the Heart Health Value Stream. This may include participating in policy and procedure development, performing quality improvement and participating in the education of nursing staff across the Heart Health portfolio

Experience
  • Five (5) years nursing experience in the specific clinical area

Education
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Licenses
  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Level C Certificate (BCLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certificate (ACLS)
  • Certified in Cardiovascular Nursing Canada (CCN(C))

Other Education and Training
  • Nursing diploma is acceptable
