This opportunity is intended for current IRC staff.

The purpose of this Temporary Transfer Assignment (TTA) is to ensure continuity of financial leadership and oversight during the recruitment period for the Deputy Director Finance (DDF) position. The temporary assignee will support the Country Program by overseeing strategic financial planning, ensuring compliance and internal controls, and guiding the finance team in maintaining strong financial management practices. This TTA is critical to sustaining the operational and financial integrity of the Syria Country Program.

Deliverables:
  • Provide financial analysis and support to the Country Director and Senior Management Team for key strategic and operational decisions.
  • With CD, oversee the process of scaling up CP financial capacity and resourcing inside Syria.
  • Oversee monthly closing, reporting, and internal financial controls to ensure compliance with IRC policies and donor regulations.
  • Lead the preparation and review of donor financial reports, in coordination with the Grants and Finance teams.
  • Support budget management processes, including monitoring actual versus budget and advising on corrective actions.
  • Provide supervision and technical support to finance staff to ensure continued performance and capacity strengthening during the transition.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience in humanitarian finance leadership roles, ideally within IRC or similar INGOs.
  • Strong understanding of donor compliance, financial management systems, and internal controls.
  • Excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Experience managing and mentoring diverse finance teams across multiple locations.

Working Environment:
  • The position will be Remotely or in Amman, with occasional remote engagement with the Syria-based finance team and regional/HQ colleagues.
