The Advanced Analytics team at Definity is looking for a skilled Data Science professional with expertise in Generative AI. Reporting to the Manager of Advanced Analytics, you will be part of a team of talented data scientists and ML engineers exploring innovative solutions for real business challenges, testing cutting-edge technologies in rapid proof-of-concept initiatives, and collaborating to develop and implement predictive models, machine learning, and AI solutions, including traditional predictive models (e.g., generalized linear models), machine learning models, and Generative AI models.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement AI solutions on Google Cloud Platform, including predictive models, machine learning models, and Generative AI applications.
Perform the exploration and rapid proof-of-concept of Generative AI initiatives, such as extracting structured data from complex, multi-format documents, and present insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
Collaborate with Senior Data Scientists, ML Engineers, and the Technology Solutions team to integrate AI solutions into business workflows.
Translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Stay up to date with advancements in Generative AI, prompt engineering, and cloud technologies, leveraging them to enhance analytics capabilities.

Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.
- 2 (intermediate) or 4+ (senior) years of experience in data science, with a strong focus on Generative AI.
- Hands-on experience with Generative AI models, including fine-tuning and deploying models (e.g., Google Gemini models) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), is an asset.
- Understanding of the risks of Generative AI and concepts of responsible AI.
- Proficiency in Python, Google Cloud Platform (Vertex AI), and version control tools (e.g., Git, GitHub/GitLab, Bitbucket).
- Experience working with cross-functional teams (Data Engineers, ML Engineers, DevOps) to deploy AI solutions.
- Strong documentation, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Experience in P&C insurance is an asset.
Salary Range:
- Intermediate: $65,200 - $123,000
- Senior: $76,100 - $146,000
