Job Description
We are looking for a Safety Coordinator skilled in Mechanical Construction or General Contracting to take on an entry-level leadership role in Dulles, VA or Laurel, MD. This is a 10+ year project working at Data Centers and other commercial projects.
Responsibilities
This position will be on site 5 days a week. Project site can start as early as 6AM to 4PM. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $110000.00/hr.

Job Description
We are looking for a Safety Coordinator skilled in Mechanical Construction or General Contracting to take on an entry-level leadership role in Dulles, VA or Laurel, MD. This is a 10+ year project working at Data Centers and other commercial projects.
Responsibilities
- Tour and inspect small or large, complex job sites to ensure compliance with company, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations. Report concerns to safety management and ensure enforcement of OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Document safety inspections, cite dangerous areas/procedures, and recommend corrective procedures. Provide recommendations for correcting non-compliance issues and ensure cited issues are corrected within the designated timeframe.
- Maintain all site-required documentation related to safety issues, including accident reports, inspection reports, and training logs. Use information to track trends and injury rates, develop current and future loss control strategies, and implement corrective actions to prevent similar incidents.
- Provide emergency response to employees as needed. Participate in and document information for the investigation of accidents and injuries and submit data to regulatory agencies as required.
- Contribute to updating training materials and coordinate and facilitate employee training as necessary.
- Direct the workflow of less-experienced safety employees.
- Exercise independent judgment with respect to disciplinary actions for safety violations and implement procedures to correct similar future violations. Consult with the manager on decisions that significantly impact the company.
- BA Degree in Safety
- OSHA 10, 30, and 40 certifications
- Experience in General Contracting or Mechanical Construction
- Safety training experience
- Mechanical engineering knowledge
- OSHA safety regulations expertise
- Health & safety management
- Construction safety management
- Safety audit experience
- Site safety management
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Health or Environmental Applied Sciences or related discipline preferred
- 7-10 years' experience in a related field, including employee training experience
- Experience in safety management in the semi-conductor industry strongly preferred
- Certifications in CPR and First Aid preferred
- OSHA 500, CHST or ASP certifications preferred
- Excellent working knowledge of health and safety management systems
- OSHA CFR 1926 standards or state construction safety regulations
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent customer-service and organizational skills
- Excellent project management skills
- Excellent computer skills-experience with Microsoft Office suite and ability to access OSHA information via the internet
- Thorough knowledge of safety operating processes and procedures
