As a Field Applications Engineer at Melexis, you'll develop deep technical expertise in Melexis products and solutions to offer professional support to customers and contribute to business development.
More specifically, you will:
- Collaborate with the Melexis sales team and product lines to drive project design wins by creating technical and business value.
- Provide professional technical support to customers in the field by accumulating a deep knowledge of Melexis products and customer applications.
- Work closely with Melexis product lines to create and provide the best fitting products to meet requirements and solutions that effectively resolve technical issues. This is done by deeply understanding the products and their applications in customer systems.
- Gather information on technical trends, new product needs, and market challenges, and provide feedback to the product line to enhance the company roadmap.
- Offer technical training and support to customers and distributors, focusing particularly on distributor FAEs.
- Follow up with distributor FAEs for key ongoing projects.
- Actively support technical exhibitions, public seminars, and online events with technical expertise, system applications, and knowledge of technical market trends.
- Support central application engineering teams to develop, document, and maintain demo projects and tools.
- Present product roadmaps to customers.
- An engineering Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
- More than 2 years of experience in the semiconductor industry and/or Automotive Tier 1 is a plus.
- Good understanding of integrated circuit functions at the block level
- Experience with temperature sensors, position sensors (magnetic and inductive), and latch and switch.
- Experience with embedded C applications. Knowledge of assembly (any type) is a plus.
- Experience with other languages like LabVIEW, BASIC, or Python is a plus.
- Experience with mechanical CAD and PCB design.
- Experience with - FEM software is desirable.
- Willing to perform minor soldering and rework tasks.
- Fast learner.
- Fluent in English for written and verbal communication.
- Able to summarize difficult technical issues clearly and concisely.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel approximately 20% (mainly within North America)
- Openness to an initial training period in Europe (1-2months) is a plus.
