Job Description

Natixis is seeking a VP-level Portfolio Manager to oversee the Loan Portfolio for the Americas Book. This role will primarily focus on exposures related to Corporate (sponsor finance/LBO) portfolio management, while also encompassing Infrastructure/Project Finance, Electricity, and various fund-related products (including BDCs, Debt funds, PESF) as well as associated commercial and investment banking products. The responsibilities include managing assigned loans after they are closed and held within the Americas portfolio.

The business, based in New York, covers general financial counterparty credit exposures (non-market based) with maturities longer than one year.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the direct credit quality monitoring of a dedicated portfolio of loans or companies from closing through to final maturity or other resolution. Under the direct supervision of the Portfolio Management Head, he/she/they will need to stay closely aligned with Originators' needs in managing client relationships, while also maintaining independence in making credit and portfolio recommendations. This includes anticipating credit risk issues, assessing the need for credit rating changes, evaluating expected loss given default (LGD) changes, and making recommendations for exposure adjustments over time.

He/she/they will:
  • Prepare annual reviews, quarterly reviews (if applicable), loan renewals, amendments, waivers, ratings, LGDs, and watchlist reports (the latter in conjunction with our workout team), including provisioning for assigned borrowers.
  • Conduct specific quarterly portfolio reviews and assess portfolio optimization for the credit exposures within the designated space.
  • Prepare, update, and maintain financial models, ensuring the accuracy of all credit ratings based on various specific rating methodologies and in accordance with the US regulatory framework.
  • Draft new deal opinions that evaluate proposed transactions based on rating, return, and the attractiveness of new business as part of the Portfolio.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with Origination and Risk departments to ensure that upgrades and downgrades in ratings are achieved in a timely manner.
  • Work collaboratively with internal Audit, Loan Review, Outside Auditors, and Regulators regarding questions and issues pertaining to assigned Borrowers.
  • Assist in improving organizational inefficiencies and processes, proposing remedies or enhancements to senior management.

The salary range for this position will be between $160,000 - $200,000. Natixis is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Actual base salary will vary and will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, skills set, applicable licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Base salary is only one component of our total rewards package. Natixis also offers a generous benefits package, and you may be eligible for a discretionary incentive award depending on company and individual performance.
