The City of Lethbridge, Water and Wastewater Systems Team is accepting applications for the one-year term position of Water & Wastewater Project Technologist. This exciting position will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer services through the delivery of renewal and rehabilitation projects. The successful candidate will be committed to providing outstanding communications and public service. To excel in this position, you will need to be well organized, a quick learner and have a solid understanding of municipal infrastructure construction.
Wage: $43.27 per hour
Responsibilities:
The Project Technologist has the exciting opportunity of taking a project from concept to reality. The Water, Wastewater and Stormwater utilities maintain over 1600km of pipelines which require ongoing inspections, maintenance, replacement and rehabilitation. As part of our team, your role is to take approved projects and procure the necessary resources, support and approvals to see them completed. As the project technologist, you will oversee the completion of the project, arrange appropriate communications, ensure the work is completed properly and document the process in our record systems.
You will work extensively with the Water and Wastewater Systems Manager and the Water and Wastewater Operations team to successfully complete these functions.

We are interested in individuals with the following experience and skills:
- Developing official communications and working one-on-one with customers
- Creating procurement documents and managing small contracts
- Municipal construction and resident engineering
- Government and public service
- Demonstrated ability to bring people together to achieve successful outcomes
- Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches and diagrams
- The ability to interpret and modify specifications for individual projects
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team setting.
- Minimum of a college diploma in the Engineering Technology field (preferably Civil)
- CET certification
- Drafting, GPS and GIS experience would be of benefit but is not required for this position
