About the Role
The Financial Controller will be an integral part of our Finance team, overseeing month-end closings, revenue management, high-volume accounts payable and billing, and spearheading process improvements tailored to the unique challenges of our industry. You will also lead financial reporting, manage budgeting processes, and provide strategic insights to drive growth and profitability.
This role is ideal for someone who is both strategic and hands-on, capable of analyzing high-level financial data while also diving into the details to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

What You'll Do:
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Design and manage a senior-level balanced scorecard for financial performance.
- Oversee forecasting, budgeting, and financial risk analysis, identifying key opportunities for growth and cost savings.
- Prepare and present financial reports on accounts payable, billing, and collections to senior leadership.
- Assist in the selection and implementation of financial systems, including ledger and FP&A tools.
- Ensure an efficient and accurate month-end closing process, managing journal entries and accruals.
- Oversee revenue streams, proactively identifying and addressing revenue leakage risks.
- Separate and manage financials for multiple business entities under the company umbrella.
- Oversee high-volume accounts payable, ensuring invoices are accurately processed and vendors are paid on time.
- Implement AI-driven automation tools to enhance efficiency in invoice processing.
- Supervise billing & collections, ensuring timely invoice generation and proactive client follow-ups to minimize overdue accounts.
- Develop strategies to reduce bad debts and write-offs.
- Continuously optimize financial workflows, leveraging automation and best practices.
- Lead a high-performing finance team, setting measurable targets and providing coaching/training.
- Collaborate with IT and operations teams to enhance financial reporting capabilities.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business (Required).
- Experience: 6+ years in corporate accounting, with leadership experience preferred.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel proficiency, strong understanding of financial reporting & forecasting.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong ability to analyze large datasets and provide financial insights.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience with state sales tax across multiple states.
- ERP Experience: NetSuite or similar ERP migration experience is a plus.
- Private Equity Background: Preferred but not required.
