WHAT YOU WILL DO:
We're seeking a Principal Engineer with a passion for technical leadership, innovative problem-solving, and modern architecture design.
In this role you will help our client develop next-generation web applications, scalable microservices and mission-critical systems that reach millions of users worldwide.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and inspire engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, growth, and technical excellence.
- Architect large-scale systems using microservices and cloud-native technologies (GCP or Azure), delivering solutions that are resilient, scalable, and globally distributed.
- Build modern web applications with technologies like JavaScript, React/Angular, Node.js, and leverage tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and serverless computing.
- Own performance and security, driving initiatives to optimize system efficiency and ensure best-in-class security practices.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, and other technical teams to align on architecture and roadmap priorities.
- Shape technical direction, influencing engineering practices, design patterns, and the broader product strategy.
- Simplify complex ideas, making them accessible and actionable for cross-functional teams to ensure effective collaboration.

YOUR EXPERIENCE:
- 15+ years of hands-on engineering experience in languages such as C#, Java, or JavaScript.
- Deep expertise in designing and deploying large-scale, customer-facing web applications.
- Proven track record in leading the technical delivery of enterprise solutions.
- Strong background in:
- Microservices architecture using C# and Java.
- Modern front-end frameworks (especially React).
- Open-source and database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
- Proficiency in modern development tools, including Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- Deep understanding of software engineering principles, scalable architecture, and design patterns.
- Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, or Lean).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a passion for mentoring and team development.
WE'D LOVE IT IF YOU HAVE:
- Master's or Bachelor's in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Previous consulting or engineering leadership roles.
- Experience working with both legacy systems and modern platforms.
- Domain knowledge in retail operations (e.g., POS, ecommerce, supply chain, warehouse systems).
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail).
WHAT WE OFFER:
- Competitive compensation with opportunities for additional incentives. The annual salary range for this role is $170,000-$220,000.
