Your Role:
As a Senior Estimator, you'll play a vital role in driving successful outcomes for a diverse portfolio of projects. You'll provide detailed and conceptual estimating services across various market sectors and contract types, supporting both traditional and integrated project delivery methods. Leveraging a collaborative approach, you will coordinate internal and external resources to ensure the delivery of accurate, competitive estimates that achieve planned profit goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead estimating activities for a wide range of projects-from large to small-across multiple markets in both negotiated and competitive bid settings.
- Analyze design documents, specifications, and owner requirements to develop complete scopes of work and project estimates.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, submit RFIs, and coordinate with design partners to clarify project details.
- Develop both conceptual and detailed cost estimates, including scope definition, subcontractor bid lists, and coverage validation.
- Perform quantity takeoffs for assigned estimates, including self-performed trades such as Concrete, Masonry, Steel, Carpentry, Drywall, and Millwright work.
- Utilize software like OnCenter , Vico , and BIM tools for accurate quantification.
- Prepare and review all estimate deliverables and contract documents.
- Present estimates to project owners and key stakeholders, and lead internal/external coordination meetings.
- Manage all aspects of the bidding process-from bid solicitation to final bid acceptance and buyout.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Guide and support estimating teams, ensuring quality, accuracy, and consistency across all project estimates.
- Confirm labor rates, material requirements, and equipment needs. Use the company's labor rate app and real-time field feedback to adjust productivity metrics.
- Manage bid documents, Instructions to Bidders, and subcontractor prequalification.
- Collaborate with project managers and finance teams to assess project risks, opportunities, and cost performance.
- Support monthly financial reviews by analyzing trade partner and labor cost reports.
- Conduct Strategic Project Qualifications (SPQs) for risk analysis.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, documentation, and project data.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- 10+ years of estimating experience required.
- Experience with Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) and Target Value Design (TVD) is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in estimating for GMP (Guaranteed Maximum Price) and Lump Sum projects.
- Skilled with software tools such as WinEst, On-Screen Takeoff, Microsoft Project, or Primavera.
- Familiarity with REVIT, Vico, and other BIM platforms preferred.
- Valid driver's license may be required; MVR checks may apply for those involved in company vehicle programs.
