About Rates and Analysis Department:

The Rates and Analysis Department participates in federal and state programs and investigations regarding energy policy, delivery, and reliability; monitors and advises on utility conformance with prudent corporate oversight practices and procedures; monitors energy efficiency and portfolio compliance requirements; process utility rate change requests and performs technical investigations. The department is comprised of accounting and finance, grid modernization and retail markets, and regulatory utility services divisions.

What You'll do:

In this position as a Project Manager 1, your duties will consist of but not limited to the following:
  • Acts as an interdepartmental liaison for Human Resources, the Office of Public Affairs, Information Technology, and Commission Offices
  • Facilitate hiring of employees, organizational planning, and create/maintain public and internal website resources
  • Respond to information requests from Commissioners/Aides, and participate in agency initiatives and security efforts and events
  • Demonstrate considerable knowledge of project management (e.g., life cycle methodologies, public policy management, implementation, monitor and ensure policy compliance)
  • Develop training and hiring materials, schedule testing and interviews, and assist in planning future positions
  • Interpretation of policies and procedures to resolve problems
  • Prepare correspondence and/or reports, research and prepare data for budget inclusion
PUCO core hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, however, daily start/end times may vary based on operational need across PUCO departments. Most positions perform work on-site at the PUCO Central Office. The PUCO offers flextime work schedules that allow an employee to start the day as early as 7:00am or as late as 8:00 am. Flex-time schedules are based on operational need and require supervisor approval.

Salary Information: Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary is set at the lowest rate of the salary range. In most cases, successful employees will increase a step in the salary range within six months, with subsequent step increases occurring every year. Qualifications

3 yrs. exp. in project management (i.e., management & development of project/program requirements, design, development, testing/pilot, training & full scale implementation), with experience to be commensurate with project/program &/or position description on file (e.g., specific human service program area, management information sciences, fiscal); 12 mos. exp. in budgeting & calculating cost projections of program/projects.

-Or successful completion of 2 yrs. post-secondary education majoring in business administration, public administration, computer science/information technology, social science, or health, with major being commensurate with project to be assigned; 12 mos. exp. in budgeting & calculating cost projections of program/projects.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
