What you will do at AMC:
The Lead Nurse plays a critical leadership and mentorship role within the nursing team, supporting onboarding and training of new nursing staff, driving operational efficiencies, and promoting seamless integration with clinical operations. Reporting to the Nurse Manager, the Lead Nurse works in close collaboration with providers and clinic staff to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. This position provides oversight of the Pharmacy Technician and Clinical Team Assistant and serves as a clinical resource and liaison for the broader care team.

  • Leads the onboarding and orientation of new nursing staff, including RNs, LVNs, and other support roles.
  • Provides training, mentorship, and coaching on clinical workflows, protocols, and documentation.
  • Identifies and implements improvements in nursing workflows to enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and support team-based care.
  • Monitors supply inventory and usage in collaboration with Clinic leadership to ensure clinical readiness.
  • Supports integration of nursing functions with chronic disease management, population health initiatives, and clinical quality goals.
  • Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and risk mitigation activities
  • Provides direct patient care as needed, consistent with RN scope of practice.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Provides direct supervision to the Pharmacy Technician and Clinical Team Assistant, including scheduling, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Acts as a resource and role model to nursing staff, promoting a collaborative and accountable team culture.
  • Participates in the development of clinical protocols, standing orders, and nursing policies.


Requirements

Education/Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, ideally in a community health or primary care setting.
  • Experience in staff training, onboarding, or team leadership strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
  • Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or similar environment preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the State of California, required.
  • Current CPR certification required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrates strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Proficient in electronic medical records and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Commitment to cultural humility, equity, and inclusive practices.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, emergency preparedness, and safety protocols.

Sign-on bonus: $8K LVN; $10k RN

Salary Description

$76,876 - $124,384 DOE and licensure
