Responsibilities
What You'll Be Doing
- Setup and present a morning PSI Meeting.
- Do a morning check in with all employees, and assess fit to work.
- Assign work to each employee.
- Check and approve Time Cards for hours worked, work preformed, proper Time Card Coding.
- Fill out Requisitions and order parts for jobs and shop consumables.
- Prepare and present Weekly Safety Meeting.
- Review Daily/Weekly work plans and ensure appropriate actions are taken to address KPI performance issues.
- Secure and ensure proper deployment of job resources including ordering parts, requesting personnel, tools and consumables.
- Ensure and enforce compliance to all company, client and legislated safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure all new hires/transfers receive required orientations. Attend and participate in site specific orientations.
- Conduct daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections and complete follow-up activities.
- Ensure adequate and suitable safety equipment, including PPE, is supplied, readily accessible, properly used and maintained.
- Review safe work plans/ hazard assessment with crew prior to job commencement.
- Conduct incident investigations and prepare associated support documentation immediately.
- Ensure the effective use of the work order system.
- Participate in the hiring process for new personnel and the discipline of current personnel as required.
- Coordinate with the Equipment Superintendent to ensure proper training of personnel
Qualifications
What Makes You the ONE
- Journeyman (Journeyperson) Heavy Equipment Technian certification required.
- Post secondary education or equivalent experience relating to shop/field supervision.
- AMSA (Alberta Mining Safety Association) certificate.
- Three years experience in a supervisory position in a heavy equipment shop.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Trained in CSTS, WHMIS and Standard First Aid.
