Seeking an exceptional candidate to apply technical, strategy and leadership skills along with a strong acumen in manufacturing and Quality Operating Systems to a challenging role. This role will collaborate across engineering, purchasing, manufacturing and other teams both internal and external to Ford Motor Company. Responsibilities include the support of technical and industrialization efforts for hundreds of suppliers across all of North America with a focus on Engine and Thermal Systems. The ability to develop, manage and leverage supplier resources for both current and advanced quality projects is critical for the now, near and far development required to be successful in this space.

Responsibilities

What you'll do ....

Development of supplier and Site Engineering technical capabilities in the support of delivering both currently quality (PPM, QR, Warranty) as well as future quality (APQP, 17 critical manufacturing processes, Ford strategic initiatives) as well as people leadership (manage org resources, training, development, decision forums, assist with difficult problem resolution and identifying technical resource support
  • Drive Supplier Engagement Procedure for Interior Supply Base on new programs through adherence to APQP (Advanced Part Quality Planning) disciplines that lead to flawless Quality, Capacity Planning and Verification.
  • Drive Technical Deep Dives for new launches as appropriate and escalate red issues and "date to green" plan to appropriate management.
  • Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing excellence with the assigned STA Organization(s) through Q1 attainment/retention, Health chart deployment, Supplier training as required.
  • Drive robust problem solving process for Supplier Process issues related to Stop Shipment/build, Field Service Actions, Prevent Action Closure and BSAQ Supplier Process projects.
  • Drive Supplier Process capacity issues resolution - ensure production constraint risk mitigation working with Ford and Supplier teams and manage "date to green" plan.
  • Monitor 24/7 roster suppliers and early on-site intervention. Manage Global status updates of 24/7 roster suppliers
  • Work with Site STA to prioritize on-site visits for critical suppliers to conduct capacity verification.
  • Escalate capacity shortfalls and support cross-functional mitigation activities.
  • Monitor and report incremental capacity tooling execution / CAR verification status as driven by global PPAP requirements
  • Drive robust Supplier Risk Assessment to support sourcing through appropriate forums.
  • Provide prioritization and leadership to Site Engineers for corrective and preventive supplier manufacturing actions
  • Drive compliance to all organizational and corporate training requirements and SIM compliance for the team.
  • Support People Development process, Mentor/ coach STA site engineers; Drive timely performance feedback and effective performance reviews.
  • Manage Supplier emerging significant issues (Quality, manufacturing, supply issues, etc.) and drive risk mitigation
  • Engage with key suppliers, SME, STA GTS, Global Core STA and address sourcing, new technology, systemic Quality, capacity and manufacturing related critical issues
  • Manage and improve employee morale as measured thru Employee Satisfaction Index

Qualifications

You'll have..

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or similar Technical field
5+ years experience in Supplier Technical Assistance or in Product Development
5+ years experience with progressive responsibilities in technical, business and leadership roles

Experience with presenting complex topics and driving alignment with Senior level management

Ability to work collaboratively with other functions and navigate complex decision making in a fast paced environment
Self-driven to research and investigate new concepts & solve new evolving issues
Ability to manage diverse global teams

Proven record of building a network of strong working relationships

This position is a salary grade 6.
