Your Mission:

The Director of Marketing & Communications is a key leader responsible for bringing CASL's mission to life through compelling storytelling, impactful campaigns, and consistent brand execution. Reporting to the VP of Marketing & Communications, this role plays a central part in implementing organization-wide marketing and communication efforts that strengthen CASL's visibility and deepen engagement with the communities we serve. As the creative force behind CASL's public voice, the Director leads a collaborative team to produce high-quality content, support a successful rebrand, and ensure that every message reflects the heart of who we are and the values we uphold.

Your Impact:

As a Director of Marketing & Communications, you will:

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management:
    • Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing creative team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous development.
    • Foster a collaborative and innovative environment that encourages creativity, problem-solving, and professional growth within the team.


Holistic Marketing and Communications Execution:
    • Oversee the execution of marketing and communications initiatives, ensuring alignment with CASL's mission, values, and strategic goals
    • Collaborate with team members to develop and implement impactful strategies.
    • Monitor campaign performance, analyze data, and provide actionable insights to optimize results and drive continuous improvement


Cross-Functional Initiatives:
    • Lead cross-functional initiatives such as editorial content planning and MarComm collaboration sessions to ensure alignment and synergy across departments.
    • Facilitate strong partnerships between the creative team and internal stakeholders to maintain brand integrity and cohesion


Agile Methodology:
    • Embrace and implement Agile methodologies, such as Scrum, to manage projects and workflows, ensuring flexibility, adaptability, and continuous innovation.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the creative team.


Collateral Development and Maintenance:
    • Lead the development and distribution of high-quality marketing materials.
    • Ensure all collateral reflects CASL's brand guidelines.
    • Support CASL's rebranding initiative and ensure alignment with the new brand strategy.


Brand Management:
    • Play an active role in supporting CASL's rebranding initiative by ensuring that all marketing and communications activities align with the new brand strategy.
    • Partner with the VP of Marketing and Communications to implement the rebranding across all internal and external channels.
    • Provide guidance and support to the creative team in adapting existing materials and creating new content that reflects the updated brand identity.


Must Haves - To thrive in this role, you should have:
      Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in marketing and communications, with a proven track record of leading creative teams and executing successful campaigns.
    • Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role at director level overseeing team performance and cross-functional collaboration


    • Skills and Knowledge:
    • Proven leadership and people management skills, with the ability to mentor and inspire a diverse creative team
    • Deep expertise in integrated marketing strategy, content development, and multichannel communications
    • Strong brand management and storytelling capabilities, with experience leading rebranding initiatives
    • Ability to develop data-informed strategies by analyzing campaign metrics and audience engagement
    • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with attention to tone, clarity, and cultural nuance
    • Familiarity with design and content tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CMS platforms, Mailchimp)
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic, mission-driven environment
    • Experience collaborating across departments and aligning messaging with organizational goals and initiatives
    • High emotional intelligence, cultural awareness, and commitment to equity, inclusion, and accessibility in communication
    • Proficiency in project management platforms (e.g., Asana, Trello) and comfort with Agile workflows (Scrum, sprints) is desirable
    • Proficiency in English is required, with second language proficiency such as Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese) or Spanish a plus


Nice to Haves
    • Experience supporting or leading rebranding initiatives is highly desirable


Physical Demands:
    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for extended periods, with occasional movement.
    • Occasionally moves objects weighing more than 25 pounds.
    • Must have the visual, hearing, and learning capabilities sufficient to perform the essential functions defined above.


Environment and Scheduling:
    • Work is performed during standard business hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, with flexibility to work additional hours, as necessary.


Compensation & Benefits:

This position offers a salary range of $110,000 - $135,000 annually, reflective of experience and qualifications.
