Summary:

Director of Human Capital Resources (HCR) develops establishes policy guidelines in concert with the firm's Executive Team and directs and coordinates human resources activities, such as employment, compensation, labor relations, benefits, training, and employee services. Director of HCR will develop strategies and process that utilize both traditional and modern/current/innovate resources in order to cover all possible talent pools available to the firm, working with departmental leaders, office managing partners (OMP's) and other stakeholders to evaluate current and future talent requirements of the firm and those needs unique to each service line. The scope of these responsibilities includes policy implementation, enforcement, day-to-day resource allocation across all offices to ensure proper utilization, payroll and pay practices as well as benefit design and compliance with multi-state HCR requirements.

Reports and is responsible to the Chief Operating Officer.

Essential Duties:
  • Supports management by providing human resources direction, advice, counsel, and policy compliance.
  • Analyzes wage and salary reports and data to determine competitive compensation planning and budgeting.
  • Guides management and employee actions by developing HR guidelines, communicating the guidelines and enforcing organizational values
  • Leads company's compliance with all existing governmental and labor legal requirements including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Department of Labor, worker compensation, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
  • Coordinates training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety and anti-harassment training and compliance.
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee issues.
  • Administers benefits programs such as life, health, and dental insurance, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence and employee assistance
  • Establishes and maintains company records and reports; able to direct others in the organization and adherence to record-keeping guidelines.
  • Coordinates activities with the Director of Payroll to ensure appropriate pay practices, withholdings and reporting are achieved.
  • Coordinates hiring efforts with the Committee on Diversity and Inclusion to ensure compliance with Mansfield and other certifying agencies.
  • Plans, develops, and directs recruitment processes and employment programs
  • Works with management to understand current and future workforce needs
  • Creates reporting systems that will regularly lead to the identification of solutions and improvement areas for recruiting programs
  • Assesses external labor market conditions, develops the most effective, economical and appropriate recruiting channels and methods.
  • Ensures all staff recruiting activities consistent with the firm's policies and standards by establishing position competencies, interview questions and screening.
  • Is responsible for the coordination of annual merit, market and bonus administration ensuring consistency across all offices to achieve budget targets.

Other Responsibilities:

This position is a "High Availability" position and must be available to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the firm and the Management Committee.

Education, Experience and Skills Required:
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time-management skills and multitasking ability
  • Thorough knowledge of human resource management principles and best practices
  • Solid interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of data analysis and reporting
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • PHR/SPHR preferred

Physical Requirements:
  • Sitting frequently, six out of eight hours per day
  • Sitting position static for up to one hour at a time
  • Lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to one half hour per day
  • Some travel required
