Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Door Mechanism Engineer to lead the design, development, and validation of door systems and mechanisms including latches, hinges, check arms, locks, and power closure components. The ideal candidate will have experience in automotive closures and a deep understanding of mechanical systems, durability, safety, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead engineering development of door mechanisms from concept through production.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to deliver robust and cost-effective solutions.
Define technical specifications and system requirements for door mechanism components.
Perform and/or support design validation, including DFMEA, DVP&R, CAE, and physical testing.
Support packaging, CAD model reviews, and release of components into PLM systems.
Work closely with suppliers to ensure design feasibility, manufacturability, and performance.
Investigate and resolve technical issues during development and post-launch.
Maintain engineering documentation including BOMs, drawings, and test plans.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's preferred.
3+ years of experience in automotive closures or mechanical systems (latches, hinges, etc.).
Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6 and PLM systems (e.g., Teamcenter, 3Ex).
Understanding of materials, GD&T, and manufacturing processes (stamping, injection molding, etc.).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with power closure systems (e.g., power doors, soft close).
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety standards for closures.
