GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) is seeking a Highway Maintenance Supervisor II, located in Rawlins, Wyoming. This position is responsible for maintaining roadways, structures, and other properties for the Department of Transportation. This position is also responsible for the effective, efficient, and safe utilization of the workforce, equipment materials, and facilities assigned to the maintenance stations to accomplish the maintenance program and respond to emergencies such as hazardous materials incidents and natural disasters related to highways.

**Qualifying eligibility and criteria for the hiring bonus**
Acceptance of a permanent full-time non-exempt/exempt position posted for public recruitment Temporary employees accepting a full-time or part-time permanent position Current employees accepting a promotional opportunity - recruitment must have been opened to the public One year of service to WYDOT must be completed, failure to complete this requirement will forfeit the hiring incentive; funds will be recouped from final pay. - Identifies training needs of subordinate supervisors; ensures training is completed; may conduct training for subordinate supervisors and/or their assigned staff; develops performance plans with subordinate supervisors; participates in employee hiring, firing, disciplining, coaching, and development; maintains an effective workforce.
- Oversees supervisors in scheduling and utilizing people, materials, equipment, and resources to accomplish the core work required to accomplish WYDOT's mission.
- Consolidates multiple and/or competing budget requests and makes related recommendations to upper management.

- Works with utility companies, landowners, and other government entities on requests that affect the highway right-of-way.
- Collaborates with the District Management Team to preserve all investments in roads, bridges, and appurtenances and ensure safety and mobility are provided to motorists and the public.
- Utilize ERP to run reports to confirm fiscal accountability of assigned crews' annual maintenance work plan.
- Performs fieldwork as necessary to ensure assigned projects and snow removal operations are completed effectively and efficiently.
- Responsible for Rest Area maintenance, water samples, and wastewater treatment requirements. Maintaining Rest Area standards according to current EPA and DEQ requirements.
- Attends internal and external meetings to advise and consult on local maintenance.

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Individuals in this classification will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
- Individuals in this classification must be available for emergency work calls at any time, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Individuals must report to the shop within 30 minutes of receiving the call. Acceptance of an appointment to this classification signifies that the individual is aware of this requirement and will comply. Failure to be available for emergency work without an acceptable excuse will be grounds for immediate disciplinary action and possible dismissal.
