Key Responsibilities:
- Provide environmental support for the Front Royal plant with focus on regulatory compliance regarding the Clean Air Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Superfund Amendment and Reauthorization Act (SARA), and Maximum Achievable Control Technology (MACT) Standards i.e., Miscellaneous Organic NESAP (MON) & Miscellaneous Coatings Manufactures (MCM) Standards requirements and Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) programs.
- Day-to-day guidance to the Front Royal operating areas in complying with the Site's (Synthetic Minor) Air Operating Permit.
- Monitor environmental and sustainability metrics and compile reports outlining effectiveness or environmental and sustainability initiatives.
- Utilize and/or develop expertise in environmental regulations to lead programs and support Front Royal projects.
- Environmental auditing of process areas, participation in 2nd party audits both as an auditor and host.
- Hosting audits by Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (VDEQ), OSHA and/or EPA.
- Develop and implement environmental policies and procedures in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Prepare various reports for Federal and State (monthly, quarterly, annually)
- SARA 311 & 312 Reporting
- SARA 313 Reporting
- Rata Stack Test
- Air Emissions
- Biennial Hazardous Waste Reports
- Town of Front Royal Recycling / Water Discharge Report
- Provide Environmental guidance to other Refinish sites, to include site audits, program development and maintenance, and assistance with regulatory reporting.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and propose corrective actions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- BS or higher degree in environmental science, engineering, or related discipline.
- 5+ years experience with air permitting (Title V/Synthetic Minor a plus), ventilation testing, and environmental impact assessments in a manufacturing environment.
- The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision.
- Proven ability to collaborate with others, contribute to team outcomes, solve problems, and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Skilled at preparing graphs, charts, and statistical models from synthesized data.
- Working knowledge of:
- Air Regulations (Federal and State)
- RCRA Solid Waste Regulations
- TSCA (Toxic Substance Control Act)
- Groundwater Protection and Storm Water
- EPCRA (Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act)
- Working knowledge of Responsible Care RC14001 requirements preferred.
- Ability to network and interface with other Axalta Plant Sites.
