PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVE:
Reporting to the Vice President of Creative, the Director, Copy serves as a brand steward of this globally renowned brand. A deep understanding of brand voice and experience leading a team of writers is key to the role.

Pay Range:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $108,500.00 to $187,400.00. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program as well as participation in the share incentive plan. In addition,

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Craft captivating campaign copy that remains faithful to our distinctive tone of voice, ensuring each message resonates authentically with our audience.
- Recruit, mentor, and refine junior writers, guiding them to consistently capture the essence of our brand while fostering innovation.
- Collaborate with art directors to kickstart creative campaign concept decks with compelling hooks. Pitch concepts to the VP, Creative, Brand President and cross-functional teams.
- Deliver on strategic marketing intent in captivating new ways to connect with consumers, drive sales and preserve brand equity. Translate commercial objectives into rich and authentic stories.
- Incorporate consumer insights, best practices and evolving channel capabilities to continuously optimize copy to create deep and lasting connections with our consumers.
- Incorporate feedback from creative and cross-functional partners while upholding the essence of the Aveda brand voice.
- Liaise with Legal to vet copy claims and develop new territories to play in.
- Maintain effective communication with Creative Operations to uphold project deadlines and ensure seamless workflow.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of copywriting experience in the luxury/beauty/fashion sectors, with a proven track record of excellence.
- Demonstrated experience in mentoring and developing junior writers, nurturing their talent and fostering growth.
- Quick to grasp brand nuances and adapt writing styles across various platforms.
- A strategic visionary with the ability to think expansively and drive innovation.
- Exceptional pitch skills, capable of presenting concepts with conviction and creativity.
- Meticulously detail-oriented, ensuring precision and accuracy in all written materials.
- Thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments, adept at navigating frequent shifts and challenges.
- Embraces feedback as a catalyst for creativity, harnessing it to refine and enhance ideas.
