Eitr currently has an opening for a Director of Accounting & Finance that is willing to work on accounting and finance tasks in addition to supervising work performed by other accounting and finance team members. Listed below are some of the important qualifications and responsibilities of the position.

Position Overview

As the Director of Accounting & Finance, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with government regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to executive leadership. You will lead a dedicated accounting and finance team and collaborate closely with project managers and stakeholders to manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Revenue Recognition: Apply ASC 606 for revenue recognition. Thoroughly understand upfront payments and proper accounting for revenue associated with those payments.
  • Lease Accounting: Ability to properly account for all leases according to ASC 842.
  • Accrue Liabilities: Properly accrue liabilities of subcontractors and other service providers.
  • Financial Strategy: Develop and execute financial strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives within the government contracting space.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the preparation, analysis, and management of project budgets, ensuring adherence to contract requirements and government regulations.
  • Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to government contract regulations, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) requirements.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports to executive leadership, project managers, and government agencies as required.
  • Risk Management: Identify financial risks and develop strategies for risk mitigation within government contracts, including cost overruns and contract modifications.
  • Audit Management: Coordinate, manage, and prepare auditable financial statements for financial audits performed by external agencies or government entities, addressing findings and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Forecasting: Lead the development of financial forecasts, cash flow projections, and financial modeling to support decision-making.
  • Contract Pricing: Collaborate with operations and proposal teams to ensure accurate and competitive pricing for government contracts.
  • Team Leadership: Oversee the finance and accounting team, training and recruiting as necessary to foster a high-performance and compliant finance team.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvements and automation initiatives within the finance department to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Documentation: Document policies and procedures to comply with audit and government expectations.
  • Other Duties. Other duties may be assigned.


Requirements

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • CPA certification.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting and financial management, with a strong background in government contracting.
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP accounting.
  • In-depth knowledge of government contract regulations, including FAR, DCAA, and relevant compliance standards.
  • Exceptional financial analysis and reporting skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Travel: On rare occasions and depending on the nature of the projects and the industry, the Director of Accounting & Finance may need to travel to meet with clients, stakeholders, or team members. Benefits

Eitr reasonably expects the annual base compensation for this role to be between $175,000 and $190,000. Subject to certain terms and conditions, the role will be eligible for a generous PTO policy including vacation, sick, and holiday time, medical, dental, and vision coverage, and up to 6% 401(k) contributions.
