Job Description

This position serves as the US Brand Lead/Marketing Director II for EPKINLY to optimize on-market and future launch indications. Lead strategic planning and development of key marketing pillars such as brand story, positioning, segmentation, creative development, and messaging. Spearhead all marketing initiatives from strategic development, with global and new product planning (upstream marketing) to full go-to-market strategy development including appropriate approval process for current and future indications.

The candidate must be able to operate in a fast-paced organization, with high expectations and accountability on quality of deliverables in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to achieve financial objectives. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with cross-functional partners to drive business results in a compelling, effective, and timely way. This Headquarters position will report directly to the Head of Marketing, Franchise A (IMBRUVICA + EPKINLY). This role will engage with appropriate cross functional areas of the Integrated Brand Team (IBT), Asset Strategy Team (AST), in addition to the alliance governing bodies (i.e, J-IBT), with increased focus on engaging with the EPKINLY Commercial Triad, Market Access and MABI teams. This person will also have the Director, Marketing EPKINLY FL and Director, Marketing EPKINLY DLBCL report to them.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for developing the overall brand strategy, leading the marketing team, and overseeing budget and implementation to ensure business growth and financial goals are achieved.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to maximize sales, market share and profitability for existing indications and launch indications.
  • Lead, inspire and develop EPKINLY marketing team to as high-performing brand team
  • Lead EPKINLY financial forecasting for on label indications and manage US P&L while overseeing brand budget. Partner closely with functional partners for pre-launch indications.
  • Ensure consistent brand strategy and execution across functional partners including consumer, sales, sales training, etc.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop brand strategy, positioning, and prepare for internal and external events. Responsible for working closely with medical affairs, market access, market research, sales, and HEOR to ensure execution of one vision for the brand. Sit on core team meetings including IBT, IBT SteerCo and AST.
  • Understand business and competitive landscape including where the market is going. Partner with Market Analytics and Business Insights to make data driven decisions and better understand opportunities to drive the brand forward or prepare for marketing events. Continue to evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and tactics through measurement and metrics to ensure positive return on investment and achievement of brand objectives.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Relevant experience (minimum of 10 years) in a pharmaceutical/biotech setting with exposure to multiple areas of the industry (e.g., drug development and/or commercialization)
  • Ability to lead teams effectively in high-pressure environments to meet brand needs and goals.
  • Strong strategic thinking, collaboration, facilitation, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrates strong cross functional influence and leading without authority
  • Must have positive attitude, strong written and interpersonal skills, as well as excellent planning and organization skills to support brand objectives.
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills.

Preferred:
  • MBA and/or scientific background and/or Global experience.
  • Advanced degree preferred (e.g., PhD, MBA)
  • Must have the ability to effectively collaborate with, motivate and influence various levels/grades within the organization and outside of the organization.
  • Ability and willingness to respectfully challenge team members, functions and alliance partners, and manage conflict, in order to assess fully all opportunities, options, risks and mitigations.
  • Experience working in a joint venture commercial partnership is a plus.
