LOCATION:
This hybrid role is based in one of three locations: Lone Tree, CO; Boise, ID; or West Jordan, UT (Salt Lake area). The position includes assigned office days and work-from-home days as determined by your manager. Please specify the candidate's preferred location in the Comments Section of the submittal.

JOB DUTIES:
As part of the Mountain Plains (MTPL) Region Transport Engineering team, you will ensure connectivity between cell sites and switching centers across seven states: MO, KS, CO, WY, MT, ID, and UT.

Your responsibilities will include:
* Designing circuits and transport engineering: design, order, track, and implement new Ethernet connections, and disconnect and decommissioning of connections.
* Collaborating with third-party transport providers and Telecommunication Network Engineering, Field Operations, and HQ Planning teams to complete projects.
* Documenting transport equipment, circuits, ports, and paths using Granite or similar transport network inventory tools.
* Working with other Telecommunication groups to ensure upgrade/growth projects meet timelines and capacity demands in support of the Company's objectives.

MUST-HAVE SKILLS:
* Five (5) or more years of relevant experience in the communications industry in a Transport Engineering or circuit design role.
* Knowledge of IP addressing, routing principles, and network design.
* Knowledge of Native Ethernet, CWDM/DWDM, and SONET Optical Transport systems.
* Experience with circuit design.
* Experience with third-party transport providers (LECs, CLECs, Cable Companies), including their organizational processes and standards.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.
* Ability to quickly learn new technology and apply working knowledge of wireless engineering to new projects.
* Senior Engineer-level troubleshooting, problem-solving, project management, and interpersonal skills.
* Self-motivated with the ability to show initiative and work independently.
* Strong decision-making skills, including using available information and data, anticipating future needs, and taking accountability for project results.
* Excellent organizational and planning skills, including setting and communicating priorities, anticipating workload impact, delegating effectively, following up on outstanding items, and providing focus in group discussions.* A strong sense of teamwork, collaboration, and the ability to get things done.

DESIRED SKILLS:
* Experience with Granite or similar circuit database.
* Experience with the Fuze project management tool.
* Financial management experience, including budgets, purchase orders, and receiving.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
* Minimum of an Associate's Degree or four (4) or more years of equivalent work experience.
