The role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Service Design Manager to join our Team. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in IT service design and management, with a strong understanding of ITIL principles and practices.

As Service Design Manager you will work closely with the Transformation, Delivery and Service Operations teams to assist the design of existing and new services. This is a senior role which will lead the existing team which includes Transition and Change roles.

This role is crucial in ensuring that our IT services are designed to meet the needs of our business and customers, providing a seamless and efficient service experience.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and implementation of IT services, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer requirements.
Develop and maintain service design policies, processes, and procedures in accordance with industry best practices.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyse requirements, translating them into effective service designs.
Manage the service design lifecycle, including service level management, capacity management, availability management, and continuity management.
Ensure that all service designs are documented, reviewed, and approved by relevant stakeholders.
Participate in regular reviews and assessments of service designs to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
Work closely with other IT teams and the Transition Manager to ensure seamless integration and transition of new services into the operational environment.
Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
Timely escalation of issues to Head of Technology.
Work with people leads and Head of Technology to set objectives, participate in feedback for performance reviews and ensure the team

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT service design and management, with a strong understanding of ITIL or ISO20000 principles and practices.
ITIL Foundation certification or ISO 20000 preferred
Proven experience in designing and implementing IT services in a complex and dynamic environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
