Plumbing Engineer

Job Description

A well-established MEP firm in Atlanta is seeking a Plumbing Engineer to lead the design and development of plumbing systems for healthcare and commercial projects. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled engineer to step into a leadership role or advance toward that level.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop complex plumbing systems, including medical gas, domestic water, sanitary, and storm systems.
• Ensure compliance with IPC, UPC, NFPA, ASPE, and other plumbing codes.
• Perform hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, and fixture unit calculations.
• Utilize Revit and other plumbing design tools.
• Oversee multiple projects, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
• Conduct field visits for inspections, testing, and commissioning of plumbing systems.

Requirements:

• BS in Mechanical Engineering and 7+ years of plumbing engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing and fire protection system designs.
• Proficiency in Revit and a deep understanding of plumbing codes.
• Experience with healthcare projects and medical gas systems is a plus.
• PE License and LEED accreditation are preferred but not required.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary: $75K-$105K+ (DOE)
• Direct hire, full-time position with core hours Monday-Friday, 9 AM - 4 PM
• Hybrid work flexibility (1-2 days/week) after proving capabilities
• Business casual work environment with occasional local travel for meetings
