Job Summary:

Viking is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Scrum Master to join our fast-paced website and eCommerce team. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in agile methodologies and a passion for leading and facilitating the delivery of digital projects. The Scrum Master plays a proactive, hands-on role that contributes to the team in meaningful ways beyond simply facilitating scrum ceremonies. The primary goal of the Scrum Master is to ensure smooth daily operations within the team, each Sprint, so that objectives are met.

This is a hybrid position based in our Woodland Hills, CA office. You will be required to adhere to our hybrid work policy, working from our office Monday and Thursday plus one additional weekday on a weekly basis.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate and lead agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint demos, and retrospectives.
  • Ensure the team collaborates efficiently to deliver high-quality products and meets deadlines within budget and quality standards.
  • Identify and remove impediments hindering the team's progress.
  • Work closely with the product owner to groom the backlog and prioritize tasks.
  • Ensure the team follows the Scrum framework and continuously improves processes.
  • Align team goals with organizational objectives and manage dependencies with stakeholders and other teams.
  • Act as a mediator to resolve conflicts within the team and with stakeholders.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders, and manage release timelines and cross-team communication.

Job Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in Agile/Scrum, with a focus on digital products, web application development, and API systems/data integration with a demonstrated understanding of SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle).
  • Certification in agile methodologies, i.e., CSM (Certified ScrumMaster).
  • Proficient in MS Office suite: Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Highly skilled at using Agile Project Management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex technical projects on-time and within budget.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Keen eye for detail and assertively calling out the need for consistency in processes and deliverables.

Preferred Requirements:
  • Admin level skills for Jira and Confluence.
  • Familiarity with additional tools such as Service Now, Figma, Adobe, AWS, GitHub, Azure, OpsGenie.
  • Strong understanding of technical concepts including; front-end, middle tier, and back-end web application development.
  • Project planning capabilities for mid-sized initiatives spanning multiple sprints.
  • Experience with mobile app development, eCommerce, DevOps, CMS, and analytics projects is a plus.
  • Additional certification in agile methodologies A-CSM (Advanced Certified ScrumMaster), CSP-SM (Certified Scrum Professional-ScrumMaster, SAFe Scaled Agile, Kanban
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
