Description:

The Education Section represents public colleges and universities as well as the Ohio Department of Education and State Board of Education. Duties include handling federal and state litigation and administrative hearings on behalf of the public colleges and universities, the Ohio Department of Education, and State Board of Education, as well as providing general counsel to Boards of Trustees, Presidents and other officers and administrators at public colleges and universities on a variety of legal issues including but not limited to: student affairs, college governance, policy, employment issues, health care, transactional matters, public relations, public records and open meetings, and administrative procedures. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience working as an attorney and have experience in Federal Court. This position will work a hybrid in-person/remote schedule. There may be changes to this schedule based on training and operational needs. The headquarter location is our Columbus, Ohio office.

Qualifications

Licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio pursuant to Section 4705.01 of the Ohio Revised Code;

At least 7 years of experience working as an attorney; and

Federal Court experience
