Position Overview:
Analog Devices Inc. (ADI) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Engineer to join our A2B Applications Engineering team within the Automotive Audio and Networking group. This role is based at our world headquarters in Wilmington, MA. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in electromagnetic simulation, signal integrity, power integrity, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and RF measurement techniques such as Vector Network Analysis (VNA). This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute significantly to a next-generation automotive transceiver development.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct electromagnetic simulations to support the design and development of automotive audio and networking systems.
- Analyze and optimize signal integrity and power integrity for high-performance automotive applications.
- Ensure compliance with EMC standards and perform EMC testing and troubleshooting.
- Utilize RF measurement techniques, including VNA, to characterize and validate system performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including the IC design team, to assist with chip, package, and PCB simulation.
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers and internal teams.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including application notes and design guidelines.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in electromagnetic simulation, signal integrity, power integrity, and EMC.
- Travel up to 10% of the time for customer visits, conferences, and other related activities.
Technical Skills Required:
- Proven experience in electromagnetic simulation, signal integrity, power integrity, and EMC.
- Proficiency in RF measurement techniques, particularly VNA.
- Experience with automotive transceiver system design and simulation.
- Knowledge of digital audio communications and Digital Signal Processing (DSP).
- Familiarity with automotive EMC standards is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
- Experience in the automotive industry is a plus.
- Proficiency with 3D EM simulation software tools such as CST Studio Suite, Ansys HFSS, Keysight ADS, etc.
- Experience with 3D and SPICE co-simulation.
- Expertise in PCB design and optimization of component placement and layout for EMC.
- Familiarity with additional lab equipment for debugging, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, near field probes, etc.
