The Senior Enterprise Risk Manager will have accountability for ensuring Airwallex's EMEA entities adhere to good risk management and governance practices and meet required licensing standards and internal policy requirements.
What You'll Be Doing...
- Overseeing and managing enterprise and operational risk for Airwallex's EMEA entities.
- Providing risk management advisory, support, expert judgement and second-line oversight and assurance, review and challenge to risk and control self-assessments, root cause analysis for risk incidents and issues, MI risk reporting, and key risk indicators tracking.
- Establishing, developing, and implementing the ERM framework, risk governance and relevant policies and procedures to support EMEA entities and meet local operational needs and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborating with global, regional and local cross-functional stakeholders to ensure proper risk identification, assessment, management and documentation in line with Airwallex's risk management framework, risk appetite, and other applicable policies.
- Leading implementation and maintenance and providing regional support on enterprise risk management tools/systems for EMEA entities.
- Designing and implementing risk management policies & procedures, practices and processes, governance and strategy to enable sustainable business growth.
- Supporting new license applications for new products and geographic expansion within EMEA.
- Providing regular risk management reporting and insights to the Risk (sub)committees and/or local Management/Advisory Boards, as necessary.
- Facilitate ongoing risk management training for cross-functional stakeholders to foster the organisation's risk culture.
What You Bring...
- 8+ years of enterprise and/or operational risk management related experience within the financial services industry or fintechs
- Strong communication and presentation skills, ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional and senior stakeholders and help non-experts understand applicable risk management requirements
- Strong writing skills, with attention to detail and the ability to generate original documents suitable for sharing directly with regulators and financial partners.
- Excellent investigative, analytical and problem solving skills to identify trends and insights
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment by multitasking effortlessly and managing competing priorities under demanding deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, manage projects and drive results
- Prior experience working in regulated / financial industries and fintech experience preferred
