Job Description:
The Pricing Manager serves as a strategic advisor to partners, guiding and coaching them through pricing discussions, rate negotiations, and commercial decision-making. This position leads pricing strategy for request for proposals (RFPs) and alternative fee arrangements, ensures alignment with Business Development (BD) and Finance, and supports internal reporting and post-pitch analysis. The Pricing Manager relies on keen commercial acumen, a strong ability to influence senior stakeholders and capability to utilize AI and analytics to improve profitability, identify pricing trends, and enhance firm-wide pricing tools and processes.

Target Hiring Range $128,000 - $198,000
Please note that quoted salary ranges are not guarantees of what final salary offers may be. Base pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. Base pay is only one part of the Total Rewards that MWE provides to compensate and recognize our staff professionals for their work. Full time positions are eligible for a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.

Job Description:

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Advise partners on pricing strategy and structure during client rate and fee discussions
- Support internal pricing reporting, pipeline tracking, and post-pitch feedback loops
- Partner with BD and Finance to ensure alignment across pricing, matter planning, and financial reporting
- Lead pricing strategy and execution for RFPs, panels, and alternative fee proposals
- Guide partners in commercial conversations, providing data-driven rationale for proposed pricing
- Monitor performance of pitched matters, comparing actuals to forecasts and budgets
- Analyze realization, write-offs, and matter profitability to identify improvement areas
- Collaborate with the pricing and other firm team members to enhance tools and processes for fee pricing, matter estimates, matter profitability, post-matter analysis and competitor intelligence
- Utilize AI and other data analytics tools to identify pricing trends, forecast matter profitability, and support proactive commercial decision-making
Job Specifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- At least seven (7) years of related work experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word)
- Knowledge of legal matter management software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
- Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
- Ability to work independently and under own direction and initiative
