Staff Software Program Manager, HMI Framework
Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Technical/Innovation Center in Warren (MI) or Mountain View (CA) three times per week, at minimum. This position can be located at either of these 2 locations.
The Role
As Staff Program Manager, you will collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to develop a new vehicle interface system for GM vehicles that is purpose-built by GM for our customers. This role involves working cross functionally to define the core vehicle experience strategies and drive the implementation of hardware and software deliverables that align to vehicle launch milestones.

What You'll Do
- Define and execute program strategies for complex vehicle interface systems that prioritize safety, personalization, and seamless user experiences, while aligning with GM's strategic goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional business and technical teams to develop integrated solutions, resolve conflicting priorities, and ensure alignment across multiple platforms and product areas.
- Leverage your deep subject-matter expertise and business acumen to design innovative solutions for complex, multi-disciplinary challenges, often acting as a thought leader and strategic advisor.
- Lead the development and execution of detailed project plans, ensuring all business deliverables are identified, tracked, and aligned to key milestones, KPIs, and ownership metrics.
- Monitor and report project status, manage risks, scope changes, and dependencies, and drive resolution through strong communication, negotiation, and change management strategies.
- Guide and support cross-functional teams through process improvements, system integrations, and change initiatives, using data-driven insights and structured problem-solving.
- Influence senior leadership through clear, persuasive presentations and recommendations, adapting communication style to align with stakeholder needs across all levels of the organization.
- Drive continuous improvement in project management processes and tools, championing innovation, efficiency, and collaboration to improve planning, tracking, and execution effectiveness.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- 10+ years of project/program management experience in technical complex systems, demonstrating a strong track record of successful project delivery.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical related field.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, including Product, Design, and Engineering, fostering a cooperative and productive work environment.
- Experience with UI/UX, design systems, and/or creative design, showcasing expertise in creating user-centered interfaces.
- Proven ability to lead strategic, cross-functional programs and customer-facing product initiatives across multiple platforms, ensuring alignment and high-quality delivery.
- Demonstrated experience in defining, documenting, and optimizing processes to improve operational efficiency, along with managing successful partnerships with third-party vendors and internal teams.
- Strong communication, presentation, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to effectively engage with all levels of management and translate complex technical concepts into actionable strategies.

Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of the California Bay Area.
- The salary range for this role is $168,000 to $258,000. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
- Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
