Job Title: Director of Human Resources

Location: York, PA (Travel Required to Richmond, VA & Florida)

Pay Rate: $120,000 - $150,000 (Depending on Experience)

Employment Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire

Are you an experienced HR leader ready to drive strategic initiatives, lead a high-performing team, and make a meaningful impact across multiple business units? We're looking for a dynamic Director of Human Resources to oversee HR operations across several locations and lead a growing team of professionals.

Job Summary:

The Director of Human Resources provides managerial, strategic, and administrative leadership for all HR activities across multiple business units. Core responsibilities include talent acquisition strategy, onboarding, compensation and benefits oversight, performance management, compliance, and employee relations. This individual will guide and support the HR team while aligning policies and procedures with overall business objectives.

This role requires travel to locations in Hanover, PA, Richmond, VA, and Florida to support HR operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Lead the full-cycle staffing process: sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
    • Collaborate with HR Generalists on orientation and onboarding initiatives.
    • Advise management on employee relations and corrective action procedures.
    • Oversee employment processes, benefits, payroll data coordination, and compliance.
    • Partner with vendors and consultants for HR support and special projects.
    • Maintain and update compensation structures and benefit programs.
    • Ensure consistency in HR documents such as job descriptions and handbooks.
    • Stay current on employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
    • Communicate business-critical updates effectively across teams.
    • Serve as a sounding board for employees and a strategic partner to leadership.
    • Design and implement strategic HR initiatives in collaboration with executive leadership (DEI, talent management, compensation strategies, etc.).
    • Travel to business sites as needed (PA, VA, FL).
    • Lead and contribute to special projects as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
    • Ability to innovate and enhance HR processes
    • Excellent communication (verbal & written)
    • Proficiency in HRIS platforms and technical tools
    • Strong project and time management capabilities
    • Budget management and data-driven decision-making skills
    • Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and ethical standards
    • Comfortable working in fast-paced and evolving environments


Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
    • 10+ years of progressive HR experience
    • Project management and troubleshooting experience
    • Valid driver's license; must pass MVR and background check


Internal & External Relationships:
    • Directly supervises HR Generalists and collaborates with consultants and vendors
    • Partners with executive leadership, managers, and the HR Council
    • Builds community relationships to support talent acquisition and retention


Physical Requirements:
    • Regularly required to sit, use hands, talk, and hear
    • Occasionally required to stand, stoop, kneel, and lift/move up to 25 lbs.
    • Close and distance vision required


Work Environment:
    • Primarily based in York, PA office
    • Weekly travel to Hanover, PA
    • Occasional travel to Richmond, VA and Florida
    • Exposure to varied work temperatures in field and production site visits
