Salary: ~ $85,000--$90,000 base + 5% bonus

The Role:
As a Design Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and refining cutting-edge metal products using SolidWorks. You'll manage the product lifecycle from initial conception to full-scale production, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to bring new ideas to life and enhance existing designs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop new products and improve existing designs using SolidWorks and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Manage the entire product design lifecycle, from concept to production, including component design.
- Document testing results in detailed engineering test reports and create assembly procedures for manufacturing teams.
- Lead Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) events to identify and mitigate potential design failures.
- Represent the company at industry standards committee and high-voltage switch subcommittee meetings (a plus).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven ability to bring new products to market and redesign existing products.
- Experience in substation equipment design (a huge plus, though not required).
- Familiarity with high-voltage systems and power products.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- ~ +/- 5 years of product design experience.
- Expertise with SolidWorks, 3D CAD, and Finite Element Analysis tools.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes including sand casting, permanent mold casting, machining, and welding.
