The Role
Moderna is seeking a Senior Solution Architect - SAP Sales & Distribution (SD) to be based in Warsaw, Poland office. This is a high-impact role focused on designing and delivering SAP Order to Cash (OTC) solutions that power Moderna's commercial sales operations in the US Pharma market.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SAP SD, pricing, billing, logistics execution, and finance integration, with a proven ability to optimize commercial sales processes, enhance SAP SD functionalities, and drive seamless system integrations. This role requires hands-on SAP SD configuration experience and a strong background in 3PL, EDI integrations with wholesalers, eCommerce sales, and external pricing engines such as Vistex and Model N.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the digital transformation of Moderna's SAP OTC landscape, working closely with Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain, and Digital teams to drive efficiency, automation, and compliance in end-to-end sales operations.

Here's What You'll Do
- Own and drive SAP OTC solution design, ensuring seamless execution of commercial sales processes for the US Pharma market.
- Configure and optimize SAP SD functionalities, including order management, pricing, billing, credit management, and returns processing.
- Lead SAP SD integration with 3PLs, ensuring accurate order fulfillment, inventory updates, and logistics execution.
- Design and implement EDI integrations with major US pharmaceutical wholesalers, streamlining order processing, invoicing, and chargeback automation.
- Develop and enhance SAP SD integrations with eCommerce platforms, supporting digital sales channels and automated order processing.
- Implement and maintain external pricing solutions, including Vistex and Model N, ensuring accurate contract pricing, rebates, and chargeback processing.
- Collaborate with Finance and Accounting teams to ensure smooth revenue recognition, accounts receivable processing, and compliance with financial regulations.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to define business requirements, translate them into SAP solutions, and drive full lifecycle implementation from requirement gathering to go-live.
- Enhance SAP SD reporting capabilities, providing insights into order trends, sales performance, and revenue forecasting.
- Optimize existing SAP OTC workflows, identifying areas for automation, efficiency gains, and process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with US Pharma regulatory requirements, including DSCSA (Drug Supply Chain Security Act), SOX compliance, and revenue recognition standards.
- Stay current with SAP S/4HANA trends and best practices, ensuring Moderna's SAP SD solutions remain cutting-edge and scalable.
Here's What You'll Need (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Business, or a related field, with 7+ years of hands-on SAP consulting or industry experience.
- Specific experience in the following:
- Proven expertise in SAP SD, OTC processes, pricing, billing, and logistics execution.
- Hands-on experience in configuring SAP SD modules, including order management, delivery processing, invoicing, credit management, and returns.
- Strong experience with 3PL integration, ensuring smooth warehouse, logistics, and inventory coordination.
- Expertise in EDI integration with US pharmaceutical wholesalers, including 850 (purchase orders), 856 (ASNs), 810 (invoices), and 867 (sales tracing) transactions.
- Experience with eCommerce integration, including SAP's ability to support online order flows and digital sales models.
- Knowledge of external pricing engines such as Vistex or Model N, supporting pricing execution, chargebacks, and rebate management.
- Understanding of SAP SD-FI integration, including revenue recognition, invoicing, and accounts receivable processes.
- Familiarity with compliance standards in the Pharma industry, including chargeback validation, government pricing, and DSCSA regulations.
- Strong ability to independently drive SAP projects from requirement gathering through solution delivery and post-go-live support.
Here's What You'll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience delivering projects using Agile Methodology
- SAP S/4HANA experience in end to end Order to Cash cycle
- Proficiency with SAP and non-SAP integration with EDI, Manufacturing and logistics systems
- Hands on experience with SD integration with Purchasing, Finance and Master data
- Experience integrating SAP with CRM and eCommerce platforms, such as Salesforce, Magento, or Shopify.
- Ability to understand business requirements, manage user stories and define, document, design & deliver SAP Configurations, and functional specifications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate with business and technical people alike.
- Excellent project management, analytical, communication and inter-personal skills
- Quick learner. Demonstrate initiative and ownership.
- SAP certification preferred.
- Experience working with Pharmaceutical, Life Science, or highly regulated industry preferred.
- Project management skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task activities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and simultaneously organize work across multiple projects.
- Be comfortable with ambiguity and a fast-paced, highly dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
- Be self-driven, willing to collaborate, think creatively, and drive tasks to completion with minimal oversight.
- Self-directed with effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be able to drive results on multiple complex assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
