Position Summary
Key individual contributor and coordination role responsible for directing and generating new Compressed Air & Gas Treatment opportunities for Parker's Industrial Gas Filtration & Generation Division. Works with marketing team members, field sales, current and potential customers, and other Divisions as required to promote company technologies, products, and services to meet customer needs and to determine how the company's capabilities can be leveraged into additional markets.
Scope/ Supervision and Interaction: This position will report to the directly to the Division Marketing Manager and does not have direct reports. The Market Development Manager will focus on new business and technologies that will assist the Division in meeting and exceeding growth objectives set forth by Strategic Positioning and Strategic Deployment initiatives.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Identifies Compressed Air & Gas Treatment opportunities by conducting and documenting competitive research, paradigm shifting technologies, new market trends, and customer requirements which assist in growth of the Division.
- Evaluates sales performance and formulates short- and long-term growth goals and milestones for a range of products and customers. Coordinates efforts across the Division and with field sales to ensure objectives are met.
- Applies thorough understanding of the Division's technical capabilities, operational capacity, and market information to influence future growth plans and strategies.
- Develops business models, focused on Compressed Air & Gas Treatment, for new markets and technologies which include projected sales, potential market penetration, gross margins, risk analysis, and business feasibility.
- Produces marketing analysis and reports / presentations to Division and Group management as needed.
- Initiates and aids Product Management with new product and technology benchmarking activities which include testing, component analysis, cost analysis, design comparisons, market channel analysis, risk analysis, etc.
- Develops and maintains relationships with customers to gain knowledge of future market and customer needs.
- Serves as a liaison and facilitator with customers, Group Sales, and other Divisions to resolve issues and assure customer satisfaction regarding cost, product quality, delivery, and performance.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing trade and technical publications, establishing professional networks, participating in professional associations, and attending industry trade shows.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (BA) in Marketing, Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree in business desirable.
- Minimum 3 years field sales and/or Product Sales Manager experience.
- Innovative / creative background and capabilities.
- Premier customer service mentality and proven track record.
- Ability to develop solutions to customer problems and translate the solutions into business development strategies and products.
- Domestic and foreign travel as needed.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
