Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience in software testing, software quality assurance (QA), software test design, or software testing product launches.
  • Experience working on consumer electronics (i.e., consumer devices, phones, tablets, wearables, etc.).


Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience with data analytics and developing dashboards using basic programming tools or advanced spreadsheet tools.
  • Ability to close partnerships while navigating ambiguity around immature, fast moving products.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and collaboration skills.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you'll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You'll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The Product Test team ensures exceptional customer experiences for Google's new and in-market products. Using specialized testing methodologies, we translate critical user feedback into actionable hardware and software improvements.

As a Technical Program Manager for Product Quality Assurance, you will lead, define, prioritize, and drive optimized testing for Google products to ensure an exceptional customer experience. Your responsibilities include robust test coverage, identifying gaps, analyzing escaped defects to prevent regressions, and driving critical issue resolution before key milestones.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to understand or identify defined work problems and program goals, obtain prioritized deliverables, and discuss program impact.
  • Prioritize program goals, understand and translate other stakeholders' needs into program goals and prioritized deliverables with minimal assistance, and contribute to decisions on prioritizing goals and deliverables.
  • Define the scope of projects and develop, execute, and/or manage project plans for supported program(s).
  • Review key metrics pertaining to a program, monitor potential metric deviations, and define corrective actions for critical deviations.
  • Identify, communicate, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders within one or more teams to drive impact and work toward mutual goals. Build, maintain and enhance business, operational, and management dashboards.
