You'll be a key contributor to the architecture and implementation of high-performance, self-service systems that support both cloud and on-premises environments - all in support of real-world space missions.
You'll combine hands-on engineering expertise with strategic thinking, helping to guide teams across the organization toward scalable, secure, and portable infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Platform Leadership & Architecture:
- Design and lead the implementation of developer platforms that are cloud-agnostic, scalable, and secure.
- Architect reusable infrastructure components, patterns, and APIs for internal teams.
- Drive improvements in container orchestration (Kubernetes) and standardized deployment workflows.
- Build abstraction layers to decouple platform services from specific cloud providers.
Engineering & Collaboration:
- Partner with development teams to improve developer experience, CI/CD pipelines, and service reliability.
- Guide teams in adopting best practices for containerization, IaC, and observability.
- Mentor junior engineers and influence engineering culture through thought leadership and knowledge sharing.
Operational Ownership:
- Maintain and evolve AWS infrastructure while working toward more portable deployments.
- Support production environments, troubleshoot complex systems, and participate in on-call rotations.
- Lead post-mortems, technical deep dives, and root cause analyses when incidents arise.
- 5+ years in platform engineering, DevOps, or site reliability roles.
- Deep Linux expertise and comfort debugging complex systems without heavy documentation.
- Extensive experience with AWS and Infrastructure as Code (CDK, Terraform, etc.).
- Strong proficiency in at least one modern language (Python, Go, or TypeScript).
- Solid understanding of Kubernetes and container orchestration at scale.
- Proven ability to design for cloud-agnostic environments and portability.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills - able to influence and guide cross-functional teams.
- Experience building internal developer platforms or platform-as-a-product ecosystems.
- Familiarity with GitOps, service mesh architectures, and multi-cloud environments.
- Exposure to systems focused on reliability, observability, and developer self-service.
- Contributions to open-source tools or platform-related communities.
- Shape the infrastructure powering orbital debris removal and space domain awareness.
