Caterpillar Inc. seeks Position Test & Validation Engineer at its facility located at 2427 E Engine Drive, Chillicothe, IL 61523. Partner with and provide technical guidance within and between units and other teams. Projects typically range from three months to two years. Gather relevant information, compare and contrast data, identify relationships, and predict and manage failures. Challenge the status quo and champion new initiatives, collaborate with team members and other teams, and keep abreast of advancing technology. Decisions may affect the work group or project team, suppliers, multiple units, and both internal and external customers, and may impact warranty, total cost of non-quality, customer perception, costs, sales, and the leveraging of technology. Work in any number of functional areas including but not limited to product design, development, research, quality, reliability, materials, application and installation, product performance/support, service, and facilities. Review the work of technicians or other support personnel, provide technical advice to individuals at various levels in the organization, and work with another unit or team. Analyze, identify, and apply engineering techniques to solve problems and make recommendations. Perform needs analysis and initiate ideas; evaluate new products, processes, or systems; communicate results to customers, suppliers, team members, and other business units; contribute to the design of new products and processes; perform product and process maintenance; collaborate with and support other engineers, managers, marketing personnel, customers and suppliers; maintain technical currency; and represent the company externally. Manage development, and continuously learn through experience, and stay abreast of technology. REQS: This position requires a bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Materials Science, or a related field plus 3 years of experience as a design engineer, test/validation engineer, performance engineer, or related occupation. In the alternative the employer will also accept a master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Materials Science or a related field plus 1 years of experience as a design engineer, test/validation engineer, performance engineer, or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Teamcenter PLC; (2) Creo; (3) CANape; (4) CANalyzer; (5) DATk; (6) CATET; (7) CSM Config; (8) Tableau; and (9) Power Bl. Travel: Up to 25% domestic & international travel for field machine support and testing activities.
Summary Pay Range:
$116,771.00 - $143,520.00
Compensation and benefits may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market, location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance, and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
